National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) is an umbrella programme conceived and developed by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, supporting Technology Business Incubators for nurturing ideas and innovations (knowledge-based and technology-driven) into successful startups by utilizing expertise and infrastructure available with the host institution.

KLE CTIE was recognised as NIDHI- TBI by Department of Science and Technology , Government of India in 2015 – Focuses on providing end-to-end support to facilitate development ,  maturation and commercialization of technologies .

3.I.3. Department of Science and Technology , National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations , Seed Support System (DST NIDHI SSS)

The key objective of the NIDHI- SEED SUPPORT (SS) PROGRAM is to ensure timely availability of the seed support to the deserving incubatee startups within an incubator, thereby enabling them to take their venture to the next level and facilitate their success in the marketplace. 

The PROGRAM aims at providing financial assistance to startups in below stages .

proof of concept
prototype development
product trials
market entry
commercialization.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The applicant startup must be a company registered in India, preferably be a DPIIT registered/applied startup and should have completed a minimum 3 months of association with the incubator in its resident or virtual incubation program.

  2. The applicant startup should have developed clarity on Unique Selling Preposition (USP) through customer validation and value proposition for its targeted customers. 

  3. The shareholding by Indian promoters in the incubate startup should be at least 51%. 

  4. Preference will be given to startups, who have not availed any funding from any Government of India /State Govt. body.
